  • 97 points, Wine Spectator: Broad and mouthfilling, exuding floral, black cherry, blackberry, graphite and stony mineral flavors. Powerful, yet refined in by the vivid acidity, with tannins that are refined and well-integrated. Shows terrific balance and length. Best from 2025 through 2048.”
  • 94 points, International Wine Report
  • 92 points, James Suckling: “Aromas of sweet berries and orange peel with some dried flowers. It’s medium-bodied with very fine tannins and a succulent finish. Nice citrus undertone here. Drink in 2023.”
WINE NOTES

Incredible 97-point review from Wine Spectator for this Brunello from the five-star 2016 vintage.  Complex on the nose, with distinctive nuances of ripe red fruit and spices such as black pepper and licorice. The same ripe red fruits continue on the palate, accompanied by vanilla notes. Very long finish.  Elegant.

SHELF-TALKER

Heralded as one of the top appellations in Italy, this Brunello di Montalcino is no exception.  From the All-Star 2016 vintage this wine received one of the highest ratings given by Wine Spectator. With a beautiful floral bouquet and delicious taste, this Sangiovese should not be missed by discerning customers!

Welcome to the new world of wine wholesale futures driving customer engagement driving customer excitement expanding margins

Dating back many years, there is a history of Bordeaux wines being “pre-sold” around the world through a process known as “en primeur” – the concept is fairly simple, a “futures” purchase is made for wine that has not been bottled or released based on the quality of the vintage, reputation of the producer, initial reviews from wine critics and other factors.   With an increasing number of incredible small production, highly rated wines from around the world trying to make their way to the US market, this futures marketplace expands the en primeur concept in a way never done before.  While many US importers and distributors are hesitant to bring in these wines on a speculative basis, the retail market for these wines is booming. By developing a rotational program of highly-rated, small production “hidden gems,” retailers can drive customer engagement and excitement, while expanding margins.
